If you don’t already read She Shreds, you’re missing out. Contrary to what you might think, it really is so much more than a magazine for women who play guitar. It’s an excellent resource for players of all skill levels, and I’m proud to have worked with them on the Be Your Own Marketing Expert series, which was recently published online.
As some folks may know, I’m in marketing by trade. I’ve spent over ten years in digital marketing, content marketing, and PR, much of that spent fully or partly dedicated to the world of live events.
That includes internships at Beggars Group, Matador Records, and AEG Live in college, a full time job with Rockhouse Partners (owned by the ticketing giants Etix) where I marketed everything from club shows to F1 races and X Games, and work with Artist Home for festivals like Timber! Outdoor Music Festival and Timbrrr! Winter Music Festival. That’s not even to mention the bands I’ve consulted with over the years on their own marketing.
Let’s just say I know how to sell some tickets to a damn event.
