[00:00:00] Emily: Welcome to get upset. My name is Emily, and if you’re like me, you’ve already started your holiday shopping. Shoot. If you’re here, you’re probably looking for gift ideas for a guitarist in your life. That’s not going to break your bank, not going to hurt your soul. Nah, not too expensive. Stocking stuffers.

[00:00:20] That’s what we’re talking about. Stocking stuffers and oh, I just happened to have a stuffed stocking right here. Oh my gosh. I’ve already stuffed it. It’s already stuffed. Is it for me? Maybe? Maybe it’s for me, maybe I’ve already filled it. So here are some ideas that I have, uh, that you might, or a guitarist in your life.

[00:00:48] I should say, might appreciate that. I said, and one of these fellas don’t worry, nothing in here is too super duper expensive, but I did try to hit a range of prices, uh, because that’s what we all do. The first thing, not actually in the stacking because, uh, I, I did not want to lose it. Is this guitar picks his guitar picks.

[00:01:15] This is specifically the Oop, is it going to focus? Here we go. I’m in love. With these pigs. Oh, first things first, uh, Sweetwater gave me the idea for this video. So ups to Sweetwater, but this is my new favorite type of guitar Peck. It’s a prodigy guitar pick from Ernie ball. And, um, I bought some of these.

[00:01:40] This is the 1.5 millimeter. This is their mini. So I like their many, but if you aren’t a guitarist, if you don’t know what your favorite guitarists likes, or if you’re not familiar with the prodigy line, I recommend checking out the Ernie ball project. Multipack. It’s a six pack has different sizes, uh, girths thicknesses of picks.

[00:02:04] So you can try a bunch of things at once. See what really, uh, what’s your really dig or you’re a guitarist friend, loved one can try it, a few things and you know, they’re not going to love them all, but some are going to be some are going to be real winners that I can tell. Uh, I can tell you that one. So check them out.

[00:02:26] Ernie ball prodigy, pecs link, affiliate link, and video description. Let’s check out the next thing did it. Oh, oh. Oh, what is this? Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. It’s an SM 57. Sure. S M a 57. Uh, as a guitarist, you can really never have enough S and 57. These things are built like cakes. These things will last for forever, and you really cannot have too many of these.

[00:03:03] They are great for making cabinets, amplifiers, um, and they’re just, they’re really versatile. You can make a drum set with, um, Uh, we’ve used them on the podcast. They used to be. Andrew is Voco. Mike used to be one of these. So check these out. You can get them for, I believe they’re like a hundred dollars new.

[00:03:25] They’re not too expensive and no one’s ever going to be upset about getting another S and 57. They’re just that versatile, that classic. They never go out of style. The SFT seven, but you

[00:03:40] know,

[00:03:40] Emily: some people are like, it’s a, it’s a dynamic microphone, you know, they can’t really use them on vocals. You can’t sing into me.

[00:03:48] You can’t talk to them. That brings me to my next stocking stuff or friends. It’s something that I actually love. I use quite frequently. It’s the soil use launcher, this thing, uh, you need Phantom power, which basically any like audio interface or you can buy. Um, a separate device to give you Phantom power.

[00:04:12] Uh, it, it kind of in a way, turns your dynamic microphone into a condenser microphone. Use it a lot of nice color, makes it a lot easier to record vocals. Uh, talk into it. Record quieter acoustic instruments. I love the launcher. We’ve used it on the good offset podcast for a long time. Um, huge, huge fan of this thing.

[00:04:37] I remember they actually had sent us one to demo and we liked it so much. We bought a second one. So that tells you a lot about how we felt about this thing that was available in Sweetwater. Affiliate link in video description. Check it out. What else do we have here? Oh, something else that never goes out of style or go give me, oh, my gosh gets hard cables.

[00:05:07] You can’t have too many guitar cables. Like, well, I guess you kind of can, you know, I’m just gonna say it by nicer, by twice, I’m a big fan of getting a nicer quality guitar cable. So, um, you know, again, buy nice by twice and I’m a fan of a brightly colored or, you know, not even brightly colored, even though that’s what I’m going to link into in the video description as a brightly colored Ernie, well, cable.

[00:05:36] I’m not a fan of buying black cables because you’re gonna lose them onstage. You just are, sorry. It happens. It happens to the best of us. It stinks, but it’s a fact of life. You tend to, everyone has a black Cape. You don’t want to lose your really nice black cable accidentally have someone pick it up and then you’re stuck with their cheapy cheap cable accidents happen.

[00:06:02] It’s probably not done on purpose, but it happens. Don’t let that happen to you. Get a cable. You can’t miss like the one in the video description and, um, yeah, trust me the one, the one I linked to you. Not, you’re not gonna miss it. It might be me on color. It’s definitely neon colored. What else do we have?

[00:06:29] Hmm, what should I grab next? Oh, oh, oh, it’s my favorite kind of clip onto. Cleveland here, you know, uh, they, I kind of food them when they first came out. I’m like, oh, paddle Tinder is so superior or why would I need them when I had little like block thing that you, you could use, but, you know, they’re, they’re great when you’re at home and practicing.

[00:06:52] I don’t like using them on stage because of other vibrations and things. My favorite club on tuner are these, the Dar D’Addario, um, they’re very slim. This is all that’s visible from the front. So it clips on like that. So says all this visible from the front, and then you’d have this on the back and you can read it like that from the side.

[00:07:15] So they’re very, very. So I don’t there. Um, discrete, discrete is the word. These are my favorite type. They’re kind of a splurge compared to some other tuners. So this is perhaps, uh, other headstock tuners. So this is kind of a re this is a really nice, I think, gift to get, um, the guitarist in your life is this DDA, aria.

[00:07:41] Headstock tuner my personal favorite. I linked to a Tupac in the video description. Um, I remember seeing those and my friend, Sean studio in Nashville where he worked and I was immediately like, I need to find these and buy them. And I left one at my friend Tiffany’s house and I was so sad. He’s never went back to get it.

[00:08:02] Um, so I hope she’s enjoying it now. I bought more, obviously. If you’re looking for a good idea for me, more of those, what next? What do we have in here?

[00:08:16] The Ernie ball volt. I talked about this on the podcast this week. This is a nice affordable power, isolated power solution for a pedal boards for guitar pedal guitar and bass pedal boards. I use one on my. Base pedalboard the band I played bass in is called giraffe. It has a four, 300 in a outs. That’s quite a bit of power.

[00:08:41] So you can have, you know, visual pedals are pretty power hungry. Um, not every pedal is going to run on 308, but most are, uh, some somewhat more, most don’t. Um, so like, like, I think like the biggest bulkiest pedals will want more, but. This is going to do yet. Do you do you’re right. Most of the time what’s best about what I really like about these, I should say is that you can link multiple of them.

[00:09:12] So you can get a couple as your pedalboard grows, uh, instead of having to upgrade to a whole bigger unit, uh, separately. So you have your power N and you have your through power. So yeah, you can just get another one, link it up here, and then you’d have eight. Um, eight power options, huge fan of these, uh, check on my unboxing video link in the video description.

[00:09:37] Have you noticed a theme yet?

[00:09:43] What’s next? What do I have next? Oh, I don’t know how many things are in this video. Oh, it’s one of my new favorite things. It’s my ex five wireless receiver and transmitter. I just did a video on these cars. I just use it for the first time when I use any of your monitors for the first time on stage blew my mind.

[00:10:09] I use these in an 85 capacity, basically dive bar with my, um, ultimate ears. Any of your monitors worked like a charm sounded awesome. I’ve never felt so present in a gig. I’ve never felt like my ears had to work less hard on stage. I felt.

[00:10:32] I love that highly recommend. Uh, and also it was really affordable. It’s just north of $200 and it was really the, the, the, I think the most affordable option for trying out into your monitors and, uh, you know, in your monitors themselves can get really expensive. There are kind of affordable options. So if you really just testing the waters.

[00:10:57] This was a good option for that. So I’m again, a huge fan of this system. I bought this one with my own money, uh, and I am a hundred percent going to use this. Every opportunity I have for ever I’m hooked. I’m sold I’m obsessed. Check this out. Uh, Lincoln video description.

[00:11:26] What do we have next? Oh, it’s a Hercules wall hanger. Get the guitars off the wall, off the floor and onto the wall. I mean, isn’t that, isn’t that the dream floor, clutter man things on the floor. They can get tripped over like dogs. Kids can run into them when they’re on the wall, get them on the wall away from grubby little fingers, less clutter.

[00:11:59] And the Hercules are great because they have these little arms. So when some, when a guitar actually goes into them, poop locks right in, and there’s very little room for an instrument to actually fall out through them. So my whole studio has been updated with these guys. That’s just an extra.

[00:12:19] I say it’s being updated. I don’t know what the word of this, these videos are gonna come out of, but yeah. I’m yes. Get these, uh, they are the industry standard basically for wall hangers. Don’t buy the cheap ones. I bought the cheap ones and, um, it failed. They failed on me. My guitar fell off the wall. I do have footage of it happening.

[00:12:48] It was really cool. Terrifying. Oh, oh no. My stocking is empty because my neck’s stacking stuff or I already gifted to my mother. My mother actually is the, one of the reasons I play guitar. My first guitar lessons were given to me by my mother and my first guitar was from my mom. It was her guitar, her old Epiphone, or she’ll want me to say vintage Epiphone.

[00:13:15] And over, uh, COVID she got back into playing electric guitar and she saw my demo of the Mustang micro and, um, I get to that to her and she has loved it so much. I think she plays it more than her normal amp. So that’s been just one of the most fun things that she has played. So I highly recommend the Mustang micro.

[00:13:36] I thought it was really cool when I was demoing it and she has just had a blast playing it. It’s so easy to cycle through a bunch of. Sounds just sitting on the sofa or whatever, without having to like, choose a big ant sound or get like overwhelmed with a bunch of different options. She’s really, really, really, really enjoyed that.

[00:13:56] And for on the go or if you are traveling or something, um, having that as an option as little headphone amp, I think it’s a pretty hard to beat headphone amp. Um, So I would recommend the Mustang micro Lincoln video description. If you want a headphone kind of style amp that also has learning features because one of the cool things that she likes about the Mustang micro, she can use her fender play and she can stream her lessons, the Bluetooth to the Mustang, micro inherent, and play along to lessons from the micro.

[00:14:31] So if that’s something that you’re interested in, I also recommend, um, the boss’ pocket GT am and why I recommend that is because there’s a lot of features. It’s a little more expensive, but it has more functionality in terms of effects and sounds. It has like play pause on the device unit itself. Um, I actually, I take that when I’m traveling.

[00:14:58] I took that to Cincinnati back in October when I took a trip to Cincinnati, cause I had to learn some songs, um, for a gig I had on Halloween and I wanted to make sure I didn’t fall behind. So I took that Cincinnati with me. It had like built in tuner, uh, had some effects that could use my, an app on my phone.

[00:15:17] To program the effects. Um, I could pause start, stop. I could sync it to YouTube videos, um, and play the, or like iTunes or title. And I could play along with whatever song I was learning. So I like the both of those options, I think are very strong options for, um, anybody who wants kind of a pocket amp sort of shed dig.

[00:15:46] And, you know, it just kinda depends on what you want. Do you want just absolute plug and play? I’m never going to screw around with extra features. Must stay micro phenomenal. If you think you’re eventually going to want some extra features. Um, boss’ pocket GT I think is, is pretty cool. Um, yeah, so th that is, uh, that’s most of it, you know, you know, I was going to Sweetwater gift card, if you just really, really don’t know, uh, that’s the gift that keeps giving the whole year.

[00:16:17] All right. Well, uh, those are my stocking stuffers.
