Andrew’s Mystery In-N-Out Fuzz

Andrew: Alrighty, welcome to the Get Offset demo channel, and I’m a new face. You guys all know Emily, but I’m Andrew and I’m the other half of you get offset channel. And if you want to hear me talk regularly, we do have a podcast. That’s what we do, but I’m not usually a video. So why am I here? Well, Emily was kind enough to put together a video demo of this particular fuzz pedal that I got a few years ago.

[00:00:56] And I got a fun little story for you.

[00:01:06] so the fun story on this guy is I was working at guitar center and one fateful afternoon. So we walked up into a guitar center, said, Hey, I got a whole bunch of stuff to sell. And amongst the lot of things, it was just a bunch of random stuff. Couple of parts, taskers and amp that would turn on and just a mix of some pedals that I hadn’t really seen before.

[00:01:28] This one kind of stood out to me who has stood out to me that was completely unbranded. So it was really intrigued and wanted to go plug it in and give it a whirl. And I really liked how it sounded. It was. I had a nice bell curve thing going on. I’m not like the greatest. I was really intrigued. The only thing on your was this tiny little sticker that says eating $9 and 99 cents.

[00:01:52] So talk to the managers say, Hey, so how much were you gonna buy this pet one, four. Uh, and they said, uh, we can offer, we can offer her $10 for the, you know, we’re going to solve for 22, which I said, Come on. Like, I know we’re a guitar center. Come on. Really? It sounds good. I know we could solve like 50 bucks and we’ll come to buy it for 50 bucks.

[00:02:16] Like come on. Um, it seems kind of neat. It’s got some character it’s like sort of unfinished barks, but it looks like there was something else that like attached to the top at one point in time. Cause he was like the glue pattern going on here. So I was like, look boss, here’s the deal? You know? Uh, what if we did this?

[00:02:36] How about I do something that I’m not supposed to do. And how about I just step outside and all offer the customer $20 out of pocket. You don’t need to worry about it. I’ll take care of it. I just kind of want the pedal for myself. Uh, how does that sound? Which he said no, because he was a good manager and that’s really not.

[00:02:55] What you’re supposed to do at guitar center would be work there. Yeah, probably shouldn’t have asked, but I did so. Uh, what I ended up doing is we bought it in, uh, agreed that that was a fair price anyways, because it’s unbranded. And then I bought it on the spot before it hit the shelf, which is sort of a no-no there, but that was the compromise of management.

[00:03:15] So I picked it up and I’ve had this Holly for like three or four years now. And it’s really neat. It doesn’t sit on my main board, but it’s got something really unique that I find really nice. Got it. Then. Maybe want to wondering about the strange hat, but as you can see, I have since added some in and out stickers because as you all know, but in and out, isn’t by far my favorite burger, Shannon, and I just thought it’d be kinda neat to personalize a little bit.

[00:03:40] I didn’t want it. Like, I didn’t want to completely like repaint the enclosure powder-coated or anything. Cause I really like the unfinished look to it and they’re like, well, we’ll stick around the front and with a price tag on it. And one of those got just kind of some fun character. So. Therefore I’ve done it, the in and out buzz.

[00:03:58] And, uh, let’s let Emily show us what it’s made of.

[00:07:09] It’s not a double double in sound. It sounds like animals. It’s no skin.
