Catalinbread Giygas Fuzz on Guitar and Bass

Hey, my name is Emily and you’re watching get offset and I’m here today with Portland Oregon’s own Giygas fuzz pedal from Catalan bread effects. And, uh, let’s just go ahead and talk about the features on this very, very cool aggressive fuzz pedal. If like, if you want like big angry fuzz, this is your boy.

[00:00:24] So let’s start at the EEQ. If I remember correctly from the manual. Turning the EEQ to the left, it boosts the base and cuts the trouble, the middle frequency around a 900 Hertz. And then you can boost the treble and cut the base. It does that a really cool thing for these two Hugh settings. Where it locks into the middle.

[00:00:51] So you can always find your center and if you’ve done yoga or anything, meditative, you know how important it is to find your center. All right. Uh, then we have the men’s so you can cut those for that. Cool. Nineties art sound. I don’t know. Or you can boost them, uh, to cut through a mix a little bit better.

[00:01:11] Again, 900 Hertz centered

[00:01:17] land, uh, controls the, uh, you know, the wet, dry mix, loudest volume, and fuzz is the amount of phys. Um, I’m also going to demo this on the base and the one thing I’m not going to show you because there’s no point in doing it on camera really is there’s an internal switch that you’re going to have to click, like flip, um, that you’re going to want to flip at least to make that the step frequency range, um, more despicable to base.

[00:01:47] So they really did build this fuzz pedal with guitars and basis in mind, which I think, uh, really awesome. So thanks for doing that. Um, Forensic Hal and bread. Uh, without further ado, I’m going to be playing it on guitar with my Squire paranormal series supersonic with Lawler, Imperial pickups, um, coil, splitting a project, do it on the single coils.

[00:02:09] That’s just where I liked better, uh, into the striving or radium round B setting. And then I’m going to play it on base through the offender, rumble studio 40 just on their first preset, which I think is, is totally fine for. For my purposes. Um, yeah, so I hope you enjoy the rest of the video, please. Like comment, subscribe.

[00:02:31] Uh, really appreciate it. If you’re interested in getting this fuzz pedal, please check out the link in the description. Yeah. [00:03:13] Then you get 7% off on that. Really cool. Really neat. Um, and we get, we do get money back on that. So those are just a few ways you can support the channel if you’d like it. Let’s just get to the playing. Yeah. All right. See you in a bit.

[00:04:14] at that level, it sounds pretty tight, but again, that’s basically no.

[00:05:35] Let’s get that back to them. I think that actually sounds really good.

[00:06:48] Or no, this can really be your choice, which is what I think really matters.

[00:06:57] I guess the fun part. Let’s let’s get some fuzz going with this about them.

[00:08:26] what’s that? Okay.

[00:09:03] Uh,

[00:10:47] fuck. I don’t know why this muscle.

[00:12:30] A-plus stick cigarette for the base part,

[00:12:42] right? That’s like the base riff.

[00:12:55] Just to show that you can actually use this as an EPQ without the effects on them. Which I didn’t remember to show you what the guitar

[00:14:01] That’s what the fuck is it like nine o’clock

[00:16:18] just like a little bit of a hint of like her in the background is kind of neat.

[00:19:09] Sorry, it’s a fuzz pedal. I had to try it with the volume rolled back on one of the two instruments. But yeah, that is the Giygas  and, uh, yeah, it’s sick. I know people are gonna be like, Oh, you guys say everybody, every pedal is good, but this is really a neat title. Um, this, this blend. Is so it’s so money, like it’s, it was really neat to just have that at like nine o’clock with the fuzz cranked and the EEQ set in different places, uh, especially on the base.

[00:19:38] And then just like having just like that hints of like anger and rage and like dirt behind you. I thought that was really neat. I don’t know how y’all felt about it, but, um, it inspired me quite a bit. And that’s really what you’re looking for when you get a pedal, right? You want it to inspire you. As far as fuzz is go like, this is such a nice, tiny, like, well sized pedal.

[00:20:01] Um, but don’t let the size fool you compared to even something like, like this is a big boy, this is my biggest fuzz pedal, and this is my smallest supposed pallet. Cause I don’t really do many pedals. Um, and it’s sick. It’s great. Like this, this packs a wall up as. For all of my favorite cuddles. Like it doesn’t really, it didn’t leave me wanting more.

[00:20:25] Um, if I wanted to really dial it back and just get slain nice and tasteful, like I could do that. And if I wanted to just absolutely rage out, like, uh, I could do that too. And that’s, that’s, that’s the key. That’s what I want to see in guitar pedals. Like builders don’t feel like you’re going to go too far unless it’s like in, unless it’s really super duper in your mission to like, Stick yourself with like restrictions for some reason, which, which, you know, there are reasons for that to make sense.

[00:20:57] Um, but I really like this is a very ragey pedal I’m way into it. Um, it doesn’t sound like the other fuzzes that I have, in my opinion, I’m I can’t quite put my finger on it. It just sounds really versatile. And to my ears, like that sounded pretty smooth and creamy. I don’t know how other people are going to feel about it.

[00:21:20] Definitely not like a gated type fuzz. So I love me some gated fuzz. This was just this, this, this a lot of fun to spend some time with. I’ve spent a few, a few weeks with it now, before I’ve filmed this. And I’m just, it’s a good pedal. I don’t have to tell you. Um, yes, but thanks for watching. Thanks for understanding.

[00:21:41] Once again. My name is Emily. Like comment, subscribe, et cetera. Until next time. Goodbye.
