Recently, I went to Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar in Fremont, Seattle, WA and fell in love with a Fiesta Red Fender Coronado ii with 1967 DeArmond Pickups. Almost immediately, I went home and grabbed two guitars that weren’t getting the attention they deserved and traded them toward this beauty.
I absolutely love this guitar. I first played a Coronado ii when I did Friends Pick Friday with Emerald City Guitars. It’s more of a surf guitar than a jazz box, and the vibrato system is one of my absolute favorites — it’s not as subtle as a Bigsby — you can get quick warbles or seriously deep dives.
