The Halberd by Electronic Audio Experiments is a medium-stage distortion pedal that was specifically designed for maximum dynamic range and clarity.
Let’s take a look at the controls:
- Pre controls the amount of gain
- Post controls the volume
- High controls, well, the high end
- Low controls the low end, as you probably suspected
Pre and Bass interact a lot, as do Post and Treble. So keep that in mind when you’re setting your dream tone (which probably exists somewhere in this box).
According to builder John Snyder, “Halberd’s character comes from a jumble of silicon and germanium transistors working in harmony.” In a world of transparent ODs, this is a character that interacts differently with different amps, guitars, and synths.
Guitar: Fender Coronado ii
Amp: Milkman The Amp
