[00:00:15] welcome to get off set. My name is Emily and I’m here today with the astral destiny and the newest reverb pedal from Earthquaker devices. Uh, this has eight reverb settings. Um, And some really fun little features. It has room for eight presets, uh, and it has a live and a preset mode. So you can either tinker with it on the fly or have your favorite sounds dialed in and ready to go.

[00:00:47] So let’s talk a little bit about the controls. I want to start with the live versus pre-set settings. So for live, and this is how the puddle ships. When you hit that activate knob, you’re going to see a green light, if you would like to move to the presets so you can access these guys here, you hold that down.

[00:01:09] Flashes led changes, color, hold it down again. Go back to live mode, you can save presets and any of in either live mode or preset mode, uh, just have the preset set to where you want it to be tinker to your heart’s desire. Hold both of these down simultaneously for four seconds, you’ll be able to save your own presets and, uh, the controls.

[00:01:33] Presets. You’re not going to use that all the time, but you’re going to be really happy. You have it when you need it. Uh, mode, there are eight modes, uh, including many with Octa effects. That’s in rate, uh, our modulation, a chorus that you can blend in with any of the Reaver modes tone is your standard tone, trouble clockwise to the right, uh, less trouble.

[00:02:01] Kind of clockwise to the left and then mix is how much of the reverb you are going to blend. And I am going to keep it cranked just so you can best hear those reverb sounds. I’m playing through my stream and Iridium and my, her a signature Stratocaster. Um, my name is Emily. This is good. All set. That I mentioned that I don’t remember.

[00:02:20] So let’s start, uh, over here. I am going to start with no depth nor rate tone will probably be largely left in the middle. I will adjust your, so you can hear the differences, uh, and I’m going to keep it in the play mode. I’m also going to mess with stretch, stretch, uh, is something I feel like you kind of have to hear it.

[00:02:43] To understand it. The manual says it doubles the length of the reverb effect while adding a temporary change in pitch. This can either be a quick pitch change, like lickety split, or it can be a little bit longer, more legato. So, uh, yeah, let’s get to it. Let’s listen to my dry sound.

[00:03:10] Woo. All right. And now we’re going to be in the abyss mode, huge reverb. It says with no Okta ease effect, uh, that I mentioned length is decay. I hope I did.

[00:03:45] All right. Let’s play with that.

[00:03:52] So that was a quick change. Let’s do a longer change

[00:04:08] and you can either go out of it or come back into it quickly. I do wish that was a little bit more of a momentary function, but that is fine as it is.

[00:04:28] All right. Let’s adjust the flank there.

[00:05:03] So it can get pretty long. Uh, and now let’s mix with the mess with the depth in the rate a little bit I’m of the belief that either you have, you can have a high rate or high depth, but you shouldn’t really do both at the same time. That will, I think, make people feel a little bit seasick.

[00:05:35] There, you really heard that there.

[00:05:52] So that adds some really nice movement. That’s really crate that Debs.

[00:06:12] Woof. That’s a lot. I don’t like that. That’s just not my taste. I love that it can do that. I just, I’m not a us too much. Let’s mess with the tone.

[00:06:39] So yeah, you can dial that in. It’s interesting that, um, all of these, the actual hubs and you turn a lot, uh, are the smaller variety, whereas the big knobs click into place or are the length. So.

[00:06:56] Let’s go to shimmer and not as an octave up and the, uh, Trek tail. Oof. The, maybe you turn the tone down there.

[00:07:50] All right. Let’s add some of that chorusy sound in there.

[00:08:42] Beautiful. Next is the sub, which adds knocked her down to the tales of the reverb. By the way, this can operate and trails are true bypass mode. And, uh, those instructions on how to convert between those two are in the manual. I will not get into it.

[00:09:04] That’s nice.

[00:09:32] Oh, let’s try that without the course to get a better, um, impression of it.

[00:10:01] little bit of a pre delay before that Octa comes in, but I don’t mind that

[00:10:31] Huh. Nice. Give that a quarter sound back in there.

[00:11:04] Okay.

[00:11:20] That’s really nice. Uh, this is a sub shimmer and adds both an upper and a lower octave. Let me make sure.

[00:12:32] That’s spooky.

[00:12:45] Next up, we have the Astro and adds an upper and lower Okta with the regenerating tail.

[00:15:27] I liked that next is a send it’s upward pitch bending best used on sustained notes and chords.

[00:16:23] All right. Next is DSN, which is a downward pitch bending best to use on sustained notes and chords

[00:17:07] Okay. And last but not least is cosmos, which adds a new regenerating fifth to the reverb tail best use on sustain notes and chords. This is an ambient dream. This puddle

[00:18:39] All right. Woo. This is fun.

[00:18:47] Let’s look at these presets really quickly.

[00:19:44] that’s stretch features really fun.

[00:21:27] sounds like star Trek to me.

[00:21:45] Oh, my God.

[00:21:55] Oh, that was last one. Wow. Okay. Dang time flies. When you’re having fun. I would love to, um, compare this to the night sky by Shannon. Unfortunately, I don’t have one of those. Um, this is about 200, I think. Hmm, shit. I think it’s $200. Please check it out on Sweetwater and Rieber via our affiliate links, uh, cost, you know, extra money to purchase via our affiliate links.

[00:22:22] And it actually helps out this channel quite a bit. Um, Thanks to Earthquaker devices for sending me this pedal to demo. In case you missed the notification on the bottom of the screen, I was sent this in exchange for this video. I think it’s a lot of fun. I really like a reboot of the ads, uh, modulation to the trails.

[00:22:43] Um, I’m not the biggest shimmer person, but I really, really, especially like the sub shimmer. I thought that one was really, really cool. Um, yeah, this is a really nice little pedal. Good job. Earthquaker and also it comes with tarot cards. I got this one. That’s Jamie? Yeah, put it there. Maybe put it here. I think they each get a different taro card.

[00:23:09] If I remember correctly. But, um, yeah. So thank you so much for Earthquaker for sending this, uh, thanks to you for watching. Thanks for understanding.
