When I was shopping for a Meris Enzo, I saw a Reverb.com description of this pedal that read, “I hate this pedal and this pedal hates me.”
Wow. That says a lot.
But I don’t hate the Meris Enzo. In fact, after a few hours with it, I kinda love it. It often gets compared to the BOSS SY-1, which is great for plug-and-play. The Meris Enzo is NOT plug-and-play, it’s read-the-friggin-manual. It’s also get-a-friggin-preset-switch-so-you-don’t-forever-lose-your-settings pedal.
I read the manual, and I don’t even remember everything, nor did I honestly understand it. Which, if you watch this video, you hear me say the wrong thing once or twice and absolutely blank on two secondary knobs. But spending some time with the manual, I got to the point where I was able to get almost the exact sounds I wanted. Even the secondary functions started making a lot more sense to me.
With the preset switch, this is probably going to replace the SY-1 on my board. The biggest reason for that is I honestly love the delay, and to have this as a two-in-one or even three-in-one pedal is extremely appealing to me. I mean, the delay even has a hold function! And I can make vibrato/chorus sounds! It’s amazing!
