My Little Klony Klon Klone with Single Coils, P90s, and Humbuckers

my name is Emily and I hope that you

always have the courage to love what you

love without fear of ridicule

especially if that is pink guitar pedals

with uh My Little Pony as a clan Centaur

with a bow and arrow on it

this is a petal from daddy daughter

pedal works it was sent to me in

exchange for this demo and I’ve only

demoed one other clone on my channel it

was from wish.com I didn’t really like

it so I hope I like this one a lot

better but let’s talk about the controls

a little bit if you’re not familiar with

Clans

so output is volume it’s how loud the

pedal is about noonish’s Unity gain to

my ear

um most people turn it up above that I

can think of very few instances where

you’d want to go below that but you

might treble is

um a high pass filter and there’s

something else going on in there I’m not

I don’t know the the schematics of

everything but the Clone is known for

having like a pronounced mid-hump boost

and that should help you cut through a

mix without being overly technical uh

the human ear is really trained to hear

things in the mid-range so

you’ll just people will pick you out a

lot more easily

um just like they pick up vocalists more

easily in a song and then gain is

kind of uh the the overdrive it’s what’s

going to give you that dirty sound and

there are some characteristics in that

that also

um affect the the base and mid-range

frequencies as well so you can read a

lot about clones on the internet uh

let’s go ahead and get plan on this one

here is my clean tone

I’m on a bouncy stool really sorry about

that I almost fell

let’s turn it on

you shouldn’t be hearing a lot of

difference there noon is about Unity

gain and I don’t have the actual gain

turned on at all the Clone is supposed

to be a transparent overdrive and boost

um obviously it boosts certain

frequencies more than other but the idea

is that it doesn’t color your tone too

much so let’s turn up that output I’m

going to have to monitor my levels

frequently during this demo

so it’s already pushing the Chimera past

clean you can definitely hear that

that’s really obvious to my ear

um so let’s take that back to noon

actually let’s take it a little bit

above noon and let’s start looking at

that gain control again as you turn up

the gain it will start to have an effect

on the base and mid-range frequencies

and I think you can probably hear that

how I prefer to use this pedal is with

the gain not all the way up but the

output significantly up so you’re still

getting

more breakup than you would simply from

having the the output cranked all the

way

but those mid-ranges aren’t boosted too

much yet and if you want to boost the

mid-range that’s A-Okay you can just

keep cranking it

if you watch this channel no you you

probably know that I don’t really like

when overdrives are

that over driving I like a light

overdrive so I kind of prefer it lower

but let’s keep those settings in play

and mess around with that treble knob

that’s going to sound great on solos

that’s really going to get through

everything people will definitely hear

all your notes so uh use that one wisely

I like the tone control in the middle I

feel like that’s a sweet spot and that’s

just how I like it

yeah that’s really where I like this for

this amp and this guitar but um let me

pick up some guitars with some different

kinds of pickups people ask for that

sometimes so um stay tuned

again I I find that really really nice

but uh let’s start putting some gain in

the mix

I think that sounds uh pretty similar so

I’m going to grab a guitar with

humbuckers and see if that makes a big

difference or not

we’re back to home base this is a

supersonic with some Lawler humbuckers

in it

and a twisted guitar strap let’s

play

the neck pickup

it’s gonna take me a second to get used

to playing this short scale I haven’t

played one in a while

I actually think that sounds quite

different I think I like that more

I think I like it best on humbuckers

well there you have it that is a look at

the daddy daughter pedal Works My Little

Colony it actually came with like a

little My Little Pony sticker or

something I don’t know I haven’t opened

it yet I’m waiting for to see my niece

again

um but I like it more than I like the

wish.com clone for two reasons reason

number one the switch

works the people gave me so much Flack

for not liking the wish clone clone uh

when the foot switch stuck really hard

and didn’t always engage as intended I

don’t know what they want from me uh I

also did find this to be less shrill

even when the treble was cranked um the

wish one

people said that’s how it was supposed

to sound and it made me think that all

clones must sound like that I I think

this is a little bit mellower in a good

way but still accomplishing uh what you

want with a con that

um mid-hump to uh boost your solos more

effectively efficiently and effectively

but I I thought it sounded most

difference on humbuckers versus the Heat

treated single coils or the P90s in the

Rev star I think that might be because

humbuckers can get a little bit muddy

so

yeah that works for me but check it out
