welcome to get offset my name is Emily

and I want you to go with your gut and

follow your arrow uh don’t let the

haters distract you from what you want

to accomplish with your day your life

whatever

don’t do it don’t let them they’re gonna

try real hard

I’m here today with some new petals from

Catalan bread uh they recently sent

these to me and I’m really excited about

them they’re part of their new element

series and as you can see these are the

elements of a good dirt tone and they

only have one knob and each knob

it’s not intensity it’s not gain it’s

volume

so you can find that sweet spot in the

volume they’ve already tuned these

pedals to something that they think

you’re going to like a lot and uh this

might be kind of a fast demo so let’s

just go ahead and get into it I have the

music man Cutlass HT those heat treated

pickups and I’m playing through the um

Benson mix wave Chimera app so let’s get

into it let’s start with the fuzz I

believe it’s a silicon type fuzz and I’m

just going to show you really quickly

all of the indicator lights are a

different color and that’s going to help

you tell them apart on stage I think the

green is the brightest blue is second

brightest and red is the least bright

but that’s

pretty common so let’s uh dig into this

fuzz

I really really love that it’s really

it’s super gritty and has great sustain

I just love the character of it I don’t

play a lot of silicon fuzzes

um or plus is really in general I guess

I’ve been playing a lot of germanium for

us lately but this might make me

reconsider I like it for lead stuff a

lot and I love that as it fades out it

gets a little crackly I just love that

in a

[Applause]

[Music]

it’s not really gated but still cool so

I was on the neck and middle position

I’m gonna move that uh to the bridge and

just kind of go through some different

pickup positions and see how it sounds

different

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

I would say there are more subtle

differences between the pickup positions

there but let’s go ahead and move on to

the overdrive

again one knob they’re all one knob

[Music]

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

I wouldn’t call that like a light

overdrive that’s definitely more in the

medium to heavy territory

[Music]

to my to my ear

foreign

[Music]

[Music]

I like it

[Music]

all right let’s go with the distortion

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

I really like the character of that one

too I like the way they’re tuned part of

me kind of wishes that the overdrive was

a little bit lighter but I I don’t I

don’t have a problem with it I know I

forgot to do my clean tone so here it is

fascinating right uh let’s go ahead and

put the overdrive into the Distortion

and see how mean it gets

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

[Music]

I I really like stacking them I think

the overdrive into the Distortion is my

favorite sound uh overall

um the pedal Standalone I think the fuzz

is my favorite followed by the

Distortion and that’s a really tight

race I’m I don’t play with a lot of

distortion or fuzz I mostly play with

overdrives

um so I think that I’m not as drawn to

that because I don’t have a need for it

particularly

um just personally on my rig but it’s

still it’s nice again I just wish it

wasn’t quite as heavy

[Music]

foreign

[Music]

but it sounds quite nice I have no

complaints about the sound of it uh just

me personally I would go for the fuzz

and then the Distortion I think those

are pretty pretty Aces

but how about we uh see how these guys

sound on bass I only have a weird bass

handy so don’t judge me too harshly

we’re just gonna see how it sounds uh

on a long guitar we’re back I have my

Longhorn bass I told you it was a long

guitar

[Music]

let’s start with fuzz

[Music]

foreign

[Music]

I really love that I’d love it more on a

base with I think humbuckers but I love

it still let’s hear overdrive which is

this is what I used on the intro Jam

[Music]

thank you

[Music]

nice

[Music]

I like that I like the overdrive almost

more on base at least I’m more drawn

toward using it on bass

[Music]

[Music]

and uh distortion

[Music]

thank you

do Distortion into overdrive

[Music]

never has to be like The Stairway to

Heaven a fuzz on base right

[Music]

all right so let me give my final

thoughts um my ear for effects

especially dirt effects on base is

probably not the best I just don’t play

with a ton of effects

I liked the Distortion I think more than

the fuzz I used overdrive on the track

because I felt like it sat better but uh

for base I would go Distortion fuzz and

then overdrive I

again it’s not that the overdrive is bad

at all I really like it but

I have to if I have to have favorites

then I have to have favorites I guess I

don’t have to have favorites nobody said

I had to have favorites

whatever
