Hey, my name’s Emily and you’re watching get offset. And if you don’t care to hear me talk, hit the timestamp at the bottom, because I want to talk about this pedal a little bit before I play it. This is the half horse by Pelican noiseworks. I have to tell you a story. When I was just a wee babe guitarist, a teenager.
What have you? I tried fuzz pedals. I didn’t really bond with any, I didn’t know. I was an adult. I got back into, into pedals and into playing electric and people kept talking about fuzz, pedals, fuzz, pedals. You gotta get a big funn. Yeah, blah, blah, blah, blah. And I did, and I had a few I’ve even had a JHS muffaletta and I hated them.
I hated the sound of that kind of Muff fuzz. I just could never bond with a, can never figure out how to use it. I just thought I hated phys. And then one night when I was in, Columbia, Missouri, a little board and maybe one too many Midwestern priced gin and tonics later, Pelican noise works having a sale on their pedals.
Of course. And I bought one and, it, it, it, it really changed my worldview on, on first pedals. It is a JFF based fuzz. It’s based on the left half of their famous Peloton pedal. and it has volume sound was just tone. And then this grain, which is gain and it’s really fun artwork, top mounting, jacks, this really nice soft switch.
And it’s just such a lovely pedal. And it really, this is the pedal that made me fall in love with FAS. So let’s stop yammering and let’s play some music
to the talent, teeny tuna. Transit lab enable a strymon Iridium round round. No, no gain. No drive turned out by a little bit of room sound on the road.
It has that classic thing that I love in any pedal ever, which is goes too far. It goes too far. If it doesn’t go too far, it’s not going far enough.
alright. So that was the a half horse on guitar. just check out, the next half of the video, which will be half horse on base. I don’t know why I am the way that I am in a second. Hey, welcome back. I’m here with my fender player series, Mustang, bass, boom, still the half horse. A fender, you rumble 40 or whatever.
was she hurt in the first half of the stenos. What happens when you’re not feeding up output? So rectified that let’s keep going.
all right. So I did a little pickup squishing. The first book, the first part of that base video was the next pickup. I think it sounded better on the bridge pickup personally. I’ve never actually played this pedal on base. It was pretty gnarly, but it’s a, I think it, it sounds good on, on the guitar, especially, I really love it for the guitar.
I had loaned this puddle out to my friend SJ, so it’s just recently come back into my heart efforts. I think it’s just a fantastic piece of. Noise making machinery. so huge kudos for Tullian from Pelican Noiseworks and in Portland, Oregon for making such a perfect fuzz pedal. And I love this fuzz pedal.
I can’t believe I loaned it out for as long as I lended out for, but I hope it brought my friends some joy and I hope, it brought you some joy too. So check out. Pelican Noiseworks they have some really cool pedals. Like subscribe comment below, check out the podcast. Thanks for watching. Thanks for understanding.
