The Spaceman Delta II is called a harmonic tremolo, but to leave it at that would be a disservice. It’s actually an effect that can blend between a traditional and an offset, rhythmic harmonic tremolo with a host of unique features to shape your sound, including a three-way toggle to shape sound. #HarmonicTremolo #GuitarPedal #PedalDemo

[00:00:00] Emily: Welcome to get offset. My name is Emily and I’m here with the spaceman effects, Delta to harmonic. Tremolo and to say, it’s just a harmonic, tremolo, isn’t doing it. A full service. It is actually a mix between a traditional and a harmonic tremolo. It does do both. And I think that’s pretty great because times it just wants a traditional triple.
[00:00:25] And it’s really nice that you can blend an essentially that harmonic from a logo, I think is really super duper view. Do you too full? So let’s start with the controls here. Um, up here we have. Pretty traditional in a tremolo. Um, basically all the way down is no depth. All the way up is very choppy on an off.
[00:00:48] We have the rate also various essential and any tremolo, if you have two things, you have rate and depth in a tremolo, uh, all the way down, essentially off that’s where it is right now. Uh, and then all the way up is I believe it’s 17 milliseconds says very, very helpful. Ask, uh, basically so fast, you won’t even see it.
[00:01:11] Uh, the indicator light there that beautiful Juul light that space man is known for will give you an indication of where you are. And then we have the, uh, interesting element. Of this, we have three voices on this. Uh, so this harmonic tremolo, um, where that lag is this tiny guy right there. That is where you will blend between the traditional tremolo, which is all the way to the left that’s counterclockwise and a harmonic tremolo, which is all the way to the right.
[00:01:47] That is clockwise left. Counter-clockwise. Right clockwise. Uh, then we have, uh, a voice you go between three voices with the tremolo, uh, to the right to the left is, uh, the, what is called heightened dry, and the middle is high and low and on the right. On the left is high and dry in the middle is high and low.
[00:02:16] And on the right is low and dry. I am good with directions. Left right. Uh, the frequency, uh, there, that will, um, it’s a S let me, let me just go ahead and read it cause I was just have to read it and then you’re going to have to hear it. The frequency splitter is a resonant to pulse state variable filter, high pass and low pass outputs are paired and different voice combinations for the modulation range is 10 res range is.
[00:02:50] Hertz to 6,000 kilohertz. Um, and then that pairs with as Rez residents, the altar, uh, which gives a vocal quality to that. And the more you crank that to the right, uh, the more apparent that frequency is, it gives kind of a phaser esque quality to what you’re hearing. Somebody will most certainly disagree with me on something I have said there it’s one of those things where it sounds it’s easiest to understand.
[00:03:17] If you hear it, I will be playing this. Through my offender player, plus series Nashville, Telecaster. I have that on the bridge and neck pickup. With other words, that is the one position with the tone knob up through my fender toe master super river. With a little bit of reverb on here is my dry signal.
[00:03:50] And, uh, first I’m just going to go through the different voices because you can hear the. Before you even turn up the rate. I have everything turned down except for the depth, but the depth doesn’t matter because the rate isn’t on
[00:04:48] so obviously very, very different sounds already. I’m going to go and start on that high and dry setting.
[00:05:00] And we’ll start to turn it. The rate of the slowest rates on there just normal tremolo is going to be, I think it’s eight seconds, but that sounds very slow.
[00:05:19] deed very slow, but in the depths of all the way, we’ll hear it better.
[00:05:28] Um, and it’s a little too slow for me. And what turned the depth in the middle? I am going to set the rate at about nine o’clock. Let’s try that.
[00:05:43] That’s a good kind of medium pace. Traditional sort of tremolo. Again, it can get extremely choppy. You should be able to see the indicator light. Let me look and see like here. I mean it’s fate, but I think you can see it. Maybe I’ll do a zoom and post and let’s a bleed in that leg. So you can start to hear the harmonic ness a little bit.
[00:06:20] so there is, uh, let me read that. Dials and zero to 180 degrees of phase lag between the LFO outputs and LFO stands for low frequency oscillator. That’s kind of what a tremolo is. In some ways at a minimum you’ll get traditional tremolo as lag is introduced. You’ll get harmonic tremolo with tons of rhythmic variety.
[00:06:49] and you’ll, you’ll hear a little bit less like obvious tremolo.
[00:06:56] And that’s kind of, because you know, an obvious normal standard tremolo is volume drops. Harmonic, tremolo is low and high frequency is kind of like X-ing each other out a little bit. So let’s play with frequency in here, though.
[00:07:24] and you can hear the residents adding that little bit vocal quality to it, like a liveliness. Almost. It can feel a little bit harsh if you add a little bit too much, um, in some settings. You’ll hear that when you hear it. And some people are really gonna like it. Some people are gonna want a more mellow sound.
[00:07:39] Shut the hell up now.
[00:08:49] going to blend out a little bit of that lot. You can hear what the frequency up. Let’s do a, a frequency, um, um, let’s play with that.
[00:09:13] so you can, you can sweep it to get that kind of sound that she wants.
[00:10:09] And, uh, it gets especially fluttery when you have a lot of that harmonic tremolo blended in
[00:10:22] I think it starts to get into ring mod territory, especially when you have the resonance up, it starts to sound kind of
[00:11:14] That’s pretty fun in here too.
[00:11:38] Yeah. So you can really find your voice. Speaking of voices, let’s play with some of the other voices. I’m going to get that lag in the middle, going to put that rate back kind of around then the clock frequency in the middle. Going to get to the high and low
[00:12:14] That was still up, pretty high back in the middle with you.
[00:12:50] it’s definitely pulse, easier, more rhythmic, uh, in certain places than it is in other places. So you really can experience. I find that sweet spot. Like if you really want that, you can get it. If you don’t want that, you can find something a little softer sweeter.
[00:13:52] We have one final voice.
[00:16:38] there are also four secret modes are easily accessible. If you remember. To access them when you power on the pedal, uh, they are, they they’re presets that you access instead of blending in the lag. Um, you’ll find them at the bottom of your sheets. There’s mode one where LFO output one runs at normal speed and I’ll put two runs at half speed.
[00:17:10] So I’m just gonna show you how to do that. I’m going to unplug. I am going to hold down the foot switch. I am going to try we’re up there, girls. And. It’s shining a little bit differently. So this should be LFO output one. I’m going to turn off the resonance and sweep that just so we can kind of hear the difference.
[00:17:52] Yeah. So that’s secret mode one
[00:18:06] I’m actually just generally a huge sucker for, uh, two tremolos that are running in parallel with each other. The dwarf craft devices, twin stags, one of my favorite pedals of all time. I don’t get to play it enough. Um, but that’s elephant mode. One. And then I want to switch it to LFO, uh, sex secret mode, secret mode to, uh, same as mode one, but they’re off beat from each other offset from each other that says off.
[00:18:39] I guess it’s more offbeat than offset.
[00:18:58] I like that one a lot. Honestly.
[00:19:04] anything else actually, let’s switch it back to this.
[00:19:18] I like that voice better. Um, now we’re going to mode three L F O output two runs at normal speed and LFO output. One runs at half speed. I’m assuming output one is the standard tremolo and two is the harmonic could be wrong. But
[00:19:39] that’s what it sounds like to my ear.
[00:20:02] And secret mode for sinless mode three, but offbeat from each other.
[00:20:09] Also, I like the secret modes a lot. You don’t think about them as much. And I just really like. The timing of a two and four, especially, um,
[00:20:45] Uh,
[00:21:17] Um,
[00:21:27] today I really liked the voice one the most, but I can very much imagine that changing on a day-to-day basis, but yeah. Um, big, thank you to spaceman for sending me this pedal in exchange for a review. Uh, I really, I like. That’s not a secret. I’m really a big tremolo fan. Uh, so this has been a lot of fun to play with.
[00:21:49] I hope this demo was helpful. I think it’s a really unique take on the Trimble and dang, that’s a lot of features for such a tiny little pedal man, eight plus eight, plus for form factor. Um, a lot of features packed in, so it’s still very easy to use. Not like any hidden. Modes or anything, which is always nice.
[00:22:13] Sometimes when you, when you hear about a pedal with a lot of features, that’s that small you’re like, am I going to have to like, hold down the switch and like access the secret secret functions. But now it’s all pretty much right there, except for the secret modes, which, you know, some people will use and some people will not.
[00:22:30] I like them. Uh, yeah. So, uh, please check this out. They sell them directly through their website. We also have affiliate links for reverb and Sweetwater. If you want to check those out, if you want to buy a guitar on sweet water, I’m not going to complain. We do get, we do get, uh, affiliate sales through those channels, and that does help support the channel.
[00:22:50] Keeps me doing what I’m doing because this stuff is free. I know some of these things are free, but uh, like the upkeep eight. Uh, so I really do appreciate the support whenever somebody does one of those things, it really makes me happy. I had pay, you know, the Adobe premier subscription on Adobe cloud. I pay for the cameras for the lights, the internet, all of these kinds of things.
[00:23:15] Keep the channel, keep the channel going. So I really appreciate the support. Whenever that happens, you have a Patrion at patrion.com/get offset for $5 a month. You can get early access to certain videos, uh, cha. Discord server access, I guess it’s not really a secret, but it’s special. Um, all kinds of stuff.
[00:23:34] 10 bucks a month, you get merge. Uh, I think that’s some tier. I write you a song. Something like that, but yeah, that’s, that’s it. You don’t have to support us if you don’t want to. That’s also very cool. Just thanks for watching, please. Like comment, subscribe below. That’s a great way to support us. I really appreciate that, honestly, but yeah.
[00:23:53] Thanks for watching. Thanks for understanding until next time. My name is Emily goodbye.
