With the anniversary of the death of Prince, I wanted to give his famous solo from Purple Rain a shot. Did I nail it? No, but I think I got the motifs down.
So I recorded the solo (occasional flubs and all) and fed it through the Teisco boost on its own (0:10), after my Benson Pre-Amp (1:41), before my Benson Pre-Amp (3:38), and before the Teisco Fuzz (6:23).
The Teisco Boost is a features-packed boost. It packs up to 30 db boost and has knobs to control volume and gain.
It also has a voltage toggle so you can play at the standard 9v or 24v for more headroom.
The most interesting part is the EQ toggle. Instead of a knob, you can select between three settings: Normal, Treble, and Flat.
