The Pelican Noiseworks Pelitaur isn’t what it looks like. While it has the general look (and naming scheme) as a Klon, it’s actually a gnarly fuzz. And this version, which is extremely limited, is a little different.
According to the product description, “the fuzz side features a souped-up, gain-juice filled, germanium-ified Pelitaur circuit.” While it has a little less gain, it has a lot more gnar, and I’m all for it.
The boost side is a germanium boost by Spruce Effects. The controls are hidden in the LED, which completely screwed me up when I was first trying to figure the pedal out. The left LED is the boost gain, and the right is the tone.
This is the V2 of this collab, and features soft switching and some other things on the inside, including a new NOS Telefunken BC108. Also, these knobs literally didn’t exist until this pedal, so that’s pretty cool.
