Demo: Catalinbread CSIDMAN

I love glitchy things, and my favorite glitchy pedal is by far the CSIDMAN from Catalinbread.

If you remember the crazy sounds of a CD player with anti-skip technology, you have the gist of what this pedal can do. In an of itself, it’s a stellar digital delay pedal. But crank those two knobs on the top right and middle and you get stuttery goodness.

So, the controls…

  • FEED – amount of feedback
  • MIX – full wet/dry mix
  • CUTS – controls the sample rate
  • LATCH – controls the skippiness
  • TIME – controls delay time

The magic is in the CUTS and LATCH knobs. For LATCH, full counter clockwise is no skipping and full clockwise is just 100% glitch. At noon, it’s a random 50/50 on skipping. I recommend starting playing around with the LATCH and then experimenting with CUTS from there.

Guitar is Fender Pawn Shop Offset Special with Lambertone Cremas
Amp is Strymon Iridium (round, b)
