Demo: Teisco Delay Pedal

The Teisco delay pedal is astoundingly feature-packed for its price tag. At only $149 new, it can do anything from simple, tasteful delay unending self-oscillation, subtle modulation to swirling madness. It can even do a standard mono out or can have full wet/dry output.

Looking at the standard delay features, you have level (wet/dry mix), feedback (repeats) and time. The feedback knob gets into self-oscillation (aka infinite repeats) VERY quickly. Basically, anything past 11 o’clock is going to get wild. But that doesn’t mean you don’t have a lot of space to dial in a subtle sound! There’s a lot of range here.

On the right of the pedal, you have your optional modulation. You can turn everything down for no modulation, or you can set your depth and rate where you like. As with the feedback knob, the depth knob has a pretty large range. I think a touch is really all you need unless you’re really into pulsing madness.

In addition to a rate knob, you have a rate toggle. This greatly expands the sonic range on the rate knob. You can set the toggle to either fast or slow, then use the rate knob to dial it in exactly how you like.

Finally, let’s look at the outputs. On the left of the pedal, you have your standard mono out. On the right, under the input jack, you have a direct (aka DRY) out. This is for use with a wet/dry rig and will pass only the dry signal through. Keep in mind, that this will cause the standard output on the left to act as a kill-dry, meaning you will only get the wet signal. You’ll control the wet/dry mix either with your amps or in your DAW.
