The Warden is an optical compressor by Earthquaker Devices! It’s from the Andrew Rinard Bass Board collection, and is apparently his favorite compressor of all time.

Earthquaker Devices Warden on Guitar and Bass
Hey, I’m Emily from get offset. And I’m here today with warden compressor from Earthquaker devices. This is another one that was loaned to me by my podcast, cohost Andrew Renard from Fox Cairo, pedal toppers, and, uh, compressors. Yeah, it’s hard to get. Overly excited about compressors, uh, until you need one.
And then you find one that you love. And I haven’t really been able to play around with the award and very much in general, but I know that Andrew loves it. He says this the best compressor he’s ever played. So let’s, let’s take it out. I know compressors aren’t traditionally just generally exciting again.
I understand that, but, uh, so this is, he has on his base board. Uh, I wouldn’t do both. So stick around for the second half of this video. I’m I’m playing my two-tone teeny tuna. Do my trans that loud cable into the word in, out into the shrimp and radium round B no game.

Goof around with, with the warden? Uh, it sounds pretty good. I mean, it’s a compressor. It’s it’s it works really well. It has like all the features I think you could ever want in a compressor. Obviously Andrew had said it to, uh, be on the baseboard. So, um, that’s what his attack was all the way down. I assume since I think that’s kind of what basis tend to like, uh, To use a compressor for, but, uh, all of the spatter, the chicken pickin kind of thing.
And that’s always what I associate compressors for. I know a lot of people use them as they’re, they’re always on pedals, but well, who cares? Uh, wow. I really said that. Uh, thanks for watching. So yeah, let’s get. Let’s get to it. I have level the middle tone in the middle attack all the way down, release all the way up.
Sustain. Let’s do that in the middle.
On the, on the alpha Omega, I have the gain all the way down, both toggles her down. Uh, all the, the EKU is in the middle of the mods all the way down. Um, and the volumes at nine and the blends in the middle. So was like, it’s driving something, which is kind of interesting. So that’s.
I feel like there’s a reason basis since I have the attack down in my experience with basis.
