Gallows in the Morning is the newest pedal by our friends at Recovery Effects in Seattle, WA. It’s a dual drive/reverb with some fun and surprising features.
You have two drive modes: bold is an overdrive and brazen is distortion.
The reverb is, by its nature, a dry kill until you add in blend.
The way this pedal is designed, the reverb remains pristine, never cloudy.
Guitar is Tunatone Teeny Tuna
Bass is Fender Mustang Player Series
Guitar amp is Strymon Iridium, Round, B
Bass amp is Fender Rumble Studio 40

Recovery Effects Gallows In the Morning Demo and Review on Guitar and Bass
Hey, I’m Emily and you’re watching get offset. And this is princess Carrie Fisher. Who’s mad, mad at me. This is the gallows in the morning by my neighbors, Greg and Zera at recovery effects. and it is yeah, their first official collaboration. so Sarah and Greg designed this pedal together from the inside out.
[00:00:24] I think that’s really exciting. I’m so proud of them. especially Zera is the first pedal that she’s worked on and they’re just such grateful folks. They are such wonderful humans. I’m really proud that they are in the neighborhood and, and in the industry and making, making the world a better place. So this is a dual distortion slash overdrive with reverb.
[00:00:50] So let’s talk about the controls, huh princess? So we have the reverb control here, and this is the clean blend and this controls the reverb. So this is the amount of clean signal you’re giving with the reverb. It’s kind of like the opposite of how a normal mix would work, in some ways. So you’re putting in more clean and then the reverb can be just like completely washy ambient.
[00:01:16] And I was playing with it on base. Well, you’re going to watch that later. And it just cause this beautiful, like almost cello kind of sound. I really love it. And then of course we have the dirt, so that is the amount of gain. And then the overall volume. And then we have done here at toggle bold and brazen.
[00:01:38] Bold is overdrive. Brazen is distortion. So when I think princess, should we, should we get to play? Yeah. Yeah. Aw, Carrie. All right. Yeah. Enjoy the rest of the video. I know she will. Bye princess. Good girl. I’m playing my tunatone teeny tuna through my strymon iridium round B no room setting drive at nine.
[00:02:12] O’clock a sinasoid cables.
[00:04:41]so if I thought to put a pick in my pocket, there it is.
[00:12:26] nice. Love it on guitar. I think this goes a long way. A little bit of that can go a long way if you really just want to be completely washed out. You can get that. So stick around for the base portion of the demo. I’ll see you in a second. my fender player series Mustang bass into my thunder rumble studio, 40 and sinasoid cables.
[00:15:23] I love that reverb. And with that and this… if you’re just using it as a reverb with the bass,
[00:15:57] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Just the reverb is super cool. I love that. It’s just the dry kill. Like, especially, especially on bass. That’s fun.
[00:19:05] Alright, so there you have it. The gallows in the morning by recovery affects, the dirt and river Pell in a single box. Lot of great usable sounds there. Of course it goes from. Normal to weird. but not too weird. I feel like of all the pedals there’s I played this week, this is the most accessible, which makes me really excited for, for them.
[00:19:29] And for what I think of this put pedal could potentially do for them. I like the both, I like both the channels a lot. I can’t really pick a favorite. I really just adore that reverb sound. It is so nice and so intuitive and easy to use. I’m really excited for this pedal. I think you should check it out.
[00:19:49] A recovery effects of selling another website right now is my understanding. Sorry. If that’s not true, I hope it’s true. Cause I hope a lot of people, pick this one up, but yeah, home run. Lovely, lovely pedal. As all of theirs were. I hope you’ve enjoyed all of our recovery effects demos this week. If you haven’t seen them all, please check them out.
[00:20:14] They’re good. They’re really good. yeah. Thanks for watching. Thanks for understanding, please like comment, subscribe, et cetera. Send me super chat sometime. yeah, until next time. I’m Emily. Goodbye.
