The Squier Paranormal Series Cabronita Thinline Telecaster looks like a traditional cabronita thinline tele on first glance, but a deeper dive shows that it’s so much more.
Amp is Strymon Iridium, Round, B.

Squier Paranormal Series Cabronita Thinline Telecaster Demo and Review
Hey, welcome to get off set. My name is Emily and I have a big old box. I have a big old box to Squier on it, and let’s see what is in this big, old box is going to be exciting. I’ve been waiting for this. I heard this about a week ago.
[00:00:31] My mom actually got a guitar that she bought before I got mine and she lives on the other side of the country. So I’m a little jealous. All right. I don’t think that they glue these together. No. So it’s kind of like a little on the difficult side to open, but I have my. Fancy pants, knife. There’s nothing fancy about this knife, but just a good knife.
[00:01:02] Beautiful.
[00:01:09] Managed to say that a little bit. All right.
[00:01:17] Big old piece of cardboard. Keep the neck sturdy
[00:01:28] there. I think recycling was last week. That’s a bummer. Get a lot of this crap out of the way. Try not to hit the microphone that is maybe. Yeah, it’s
[00:01:49] my Allen wrenches. Always a pleasure. My little baked potato headstock saver.
[00:02:02] Do you know if you cook, if you cook your baked potatoes and aluminum foil, you’re technically. Steaming your potatoes not baking them. I’m sorry to be the one that has to tell you,
[00:02:18] my parents always baked with potatoes, aluminum foil, and not quite under, I don’t quite understand what the benefit of that was.
[00:02:37] It is the Cabronita, Telecaster, the thin line and white, as you can see behind me, I have kind of a thing for white guitars with black pick guards. I’m going to go ahead and take the plastic off of this. I think so. Um, this is the Cabronita tele. It is a full scale. A Telecaster ThinLine style, Telecaster guitar, which means it has the F hole.
[00:03:11] This is shockingly lightweight, like this way. It’s nothing that’s going to be really comfortable, uh, to play for those extended jam sessions. It’s got to pick ups that look like jazz style pick ups, but they are in fact, basically p90s. Other people have already gotten the Shahar. They’ve said that.
[00:03:32] And even though the website says p90, If I said jazz, even actually the middle of the website says Jazzmaster pickup. Someone’s gonna say that I’m wrong. Which I guess I technically am or would be in that case. Ooh, come on. Why is it finding it difficult to get the, uh, plastic off of these pick guards, which is funny?
[00:04:01] Oh, there we go. Oh, yes. There. Oh, that was a satisfying sound. Oh my goodness. Gracious me. Very, very, very satisfying. Oh, let’s take a look at this.
[00:04:24] Looks like a guitar. Nice. This doesn’t feel as Hardy, but it’s prof pop, probably because it’s a little bit more lightweight than the others. The neck,
[00:04:41] not the smoothest fret ends but the frets themselves look pretty nice.
[00:04:50] Strength. The nut looks good to me. The string spacing looks pretty good. To me.
[00:05:02] Ooh. Alright, let me get my tuner on and I’m gonna tune this up and I am going to also play it through my stream and Iridium.
[00:05:18] Mmm. So soon we can get some sounds from it.
[00:05:26] But I am pretty stoked on this guitar. I was really torn between getting the, the white and black or getting the red.
[00:05:37] I really, really feel in the white and black, but everyone else I talked to, they liked the red, every helpful dude. I still need them anomic device to remember, um, the, of the strings after 20. Three years playing every awful dude gets busted. Eventually I’ve actually come up with that pretty recently in my life.
[00:06:10] In case you notice I’m wearing a very funny shirt. I think I got the shirt on Poshmark. It has the most incredible upheld I’ve ever seen on the most incredible, the pals I’ve on a shirt I’ve ever owned.
[00:06:35] Ooh, those strings feel slink. E.
[00:06:47] Damn. They feel like rubber bands. This must be his nines or something. Cool. All right. Well, let me just, uh, make some quick camera adjustments and, uh, I am going to plug this in. I’m going to put this knife away because it’s the responsible thing to do. Put a knife away when you’re done with it, the concept all.
[00:07:11] Alright. I will be back in a second to plug this in. Please keep watching. All right. I’ve got this plugged in. It seems to be staying in okay. Enough tunes. Um, but I may have to stop and tune again. Um, and I’m probably gonna have to adjust my in ears a bunch of times, but, uh, let’s start on the neck pickup.
[00:07:34] Here
[00:07:50] And so, as you can hear some, mostly a clean sound, it’s a stream in a redeem round B medium-sized room at about a 10 o’clock.
[00:09:15] Alright, let’s do the, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh,
[00:09:31] at this point in the game is the best tuning stability I’ve seen on any of those square up here in normal series.
[00:09:42] This thing.
[00:09:50] Oh, let me turn down the volume.
[00:10:32] little position.
[00:10:56] I didn’t want to say that this feels very buttery. It feels very, very pleasant. very, very pleasant to play. Not at all sticky.
[00:11:09] the action shift, a little high for my taste, but.
[00:11:27] I think I liked these stuff. Pick ups better than any of the other. Wasn’t the paranormal series so far.
[00:12:06] Alright, let’s try it on a box sound with a ton of distortion.
[00:13:27] Let’s move to Marshall sounds.
[00:14:43] yes,
[00:14:47] I guess somebody a little 20 year ago and maybe, maybe. I can do, maybe
[00:18:14] someone’s going to tell me to shut the F up in the comments. If I keep doing that. But yes, that is a 20th minute. Look at the Squire, paranormal paranormal series curve, Anita, then line telecast there. I think this had of all of the names a much like the longest name of all of them. I think if I remember correctly, but it’s really nice.
[00:18:39] Like this, this, the weight on this shoot. That’s fantastic. I’m kind of. I’m impressed. I’m impressed with this one. I think, let me just turn my volume off, sir. All that playing, um, things did fall out of tune a little bit. It should be expected with a new guitar with new strings, but I’m not noticing any of the.
[00:19:05] Uh, penny ass problems I was having with the supersonic or even the offset, a Telecaster when I first got that. So I wonder if the second production they worked out some kinks just in general, but I’m, I think this feels lovely. I think it looks really great. It weighs nothing. The, the quality of construction is impressive.
[00:19:33] Out of the box. I’m not even noticing any danger or anything weird like that. I think I caused that. Yeah, just a little dirt here and there. Probably for me. Um, nothing weird with the construction at all. Uh, wait, no, maybe in the neck healed the paint looks a little weird. The next pocket area. That would, that would be hard to photograph even it’s just a little rough.
[00:20:04] So I’m not even going to try a, has the split shaft, vintage style tuning machines that I personally love, uh, just a single string tree. And it looks like it could maybe, maybe do use the second one. So maybe I’ll maybe I’ll add that. I have a few laying around, um, the electronic control plates on the back.
[00:20:25] Pretty simple, pretty simple stuff. Um, I don’t know. I’m probably going to do some laws to this. I have some, a Jazzmaster 65 style pickups that are actual Jazzmaster pickups that used to be in this guitar. And I like those a lot. So maybe, maybe I’ll maybe I’ll swap those around. Cause then the covers would still work.
[00:20:49] I’m pretty sure from this. Um, I, yeah, I really dig this. I think it’s a nice guitar. I believe they’re $400 new they’re shipping now from the federal website. Um, I think this might be the last front of them again. The only weird thing is that the pickups are from my understanding P nineties, not jazz master pickups.
[00:21:13] Um, which would make this, I think, kind of a cooler guitar, because what I actually I’ll tell you, I almost didn’t want this one at all, because I’m like, well, I’m already getting a Telecaster. That’s shaped like a jazz master. Why would I get a jazz master is shaped like a Telecaster questions for the ages.
[00:21:33] But, um, anyway, that’s all I have to say about, about this guitar for now. Uh, let me know in the comments, what kind of mods you think I should do to this? Cause. You know me, I’m probably going to do something I can’t, I can’t leave it as is. I’m not that kind of person. Um, If you want to buy one of these on reverb, please hit the link in the video, the description, we get 1% cash back and we would greatly appreciate the extra $4.
