The Fuzz Probe is a Fuzz Factory meets theremin creation by ZVEX Effects.
It’s absolutely bananas. The manual says, “You must be insane. Even I don’t get how to use this pedal.”
There are five knobs on the back of the pedal. The first four are pretty standard:
- Volume
- Gate
- Compression
- Gain
The fifth knob is “Stab,” for “Stability.” It kind of controls the theremin aspect. Or, rather, the other way around. The probe adjusts the Stab knob from wherever it’s set, so leaving it at 7 o’clock gives it the most range. Try leaving the stab knob at whatever starting pitch you like. Then, as you move your foot, hand, whatever over it, it’ll go up!
Leaving it at 5 o’clock (all the way up) gives it no where to go. You can see that a few times in the full demo.
