I bought one of the most infamous guitars from Carter Vintage Guitars in Nashville, TN because Working Class Music and 60 Cycle Hum are bad influences.

[00:00:00] Emily: For a USA GNL but the art sucks. May, may maybe, maybe the, the signature does something for someone. The fact that it has a B bender built in, I feel like that’s going to be something for someone that’s something that like is a, is a value bump. Sure. Going to be something for someone, something for someone, something for someone, for sure.
[00:00:25] It’s me. I’m the one. I’m the one who bought that Gatlinburg fever, wet dream of a guitar. It’s me. I bought I’m the one, I’m the one who thought that the cloud sex guitar was for me. It’s guitarist for me. Welcome to get us at. And my name is Emily. And I bought from Carter vintage in Nashville, Tennessee, the infamous cloud sex guitar.
[00:00:53] Um, and you haven’t seen seen it, uh, six 60 cycle. I’m talking about this guitar a few months ago. I did see that I had forgotten about it. I saw this at Karner vintage during summer now, and I thought, holy Moses. This is the ugliest guitar I’ve ever seen. It has a B bender and some other fun stuff. Um, let’s talk a little bit about this guitar.
[00:01:21] I am going to stitch in some pictures because words cannot describe this guitar and neither can this camera angle, this a guitar is a G and L ASAP classic from about 2000, 2001. If. Airbrushed artwork that is straight out of a Gatlinburg fever, wet dream. Uh, it features a it’s purple has lightning bolts.
[00:01:48] There’s clouds that are essentially trucker flop girls. Um, they are shooting lightning bolts, not only out of their hands, but out of their orifices. Uh, the one on the. They’re here. She seems to be shooting lightening out of a butthole, which tells me she went to princes and hubris got the best of her.
[00:02:11] She should not have ordered the hot Pakeha. We’ve all been there. Who amongst us, hasn’t had lightning bolts shooting out of our bottles. I’m not, I’m not here to judge. I’m not here to judge. So it’s only one of the interesting elements of this, you know, ASAP classic from about 20 years ago. It also has, uh, that’s super ugly tort and I’m sorry not to worry.
[00:02:38] Purloin pink guard. Uh, that was kind of popular back then. Um, this one has been. Autographed by kicks Brooks in Ronnie Dunham kicks and Brooks. I do like kicks Brooks, winery, Arlington vineyards. I’ve seen some great shows there. Shout out to the Wolf, grim family for taking me to see a show there. I haven’t been to bachelorette parties there.
[00:03:05] It’s a really beautiful place. Um, much more beautiful than this here. Get hard, but that’s not all it’s interesting about this guitar. And the reason I got this guitar is because as a B vendor, if you don’t know what a beam vendor is, then you probably haven’t listened to as much country music. As I have a B bender is designed to emulate help, because hardest emulate some of the elements of a pedal steel guitar.
[00:03:32] That sound that is literally like heaven. In, in guitar play in country guitar, it is here is kind of what it sounds like. Oh, I better turn up. Oh, I did my
[00:03:59] This is B up.
[00:04:08] Am I doing that without touching the string. So there’s a mechanism and this guitar, so you string this B string through this little hole there, up around, and, uh, through it goes, uh, it gets pooled via this. Uh, strap button here. So you pull down the neck and, uh, it pulls it up and you tune it there. Um, there’s a little mechanism there to tune it and I will show you, uh, what it looks like, um, on the back of the guitar, there’s a big plate.
[00:04:48] It’s like aluminum. It doesn’t add that much weight. I actually, uh, emailed Mr. Parsons cause I kind of want to get a transparent. Plate put on it and he’s like, oh, I shouldn’t have much to the way, because basically what he’s nothing. So I believe him, I believe. I mean, he said he probably installed us himself.
[00:05:06] Uh, so that’s pretty, pretty neat. These are pretty hard to find, uh, They’re not cheap to get installed because you have to route out the entire body of the guitar. So when I talked to the guys at current vintage, they’re like, oh, well, you know, the, the paint, didn’t really the paint of the pick guard and only factor in the price on that one.
[00:05:25] I’m like, well, they seem to detract from the price has been here for three years. So I was talking to, to the gentleman who sold it to me, who, you know, he was really sweet, really helpful. He’d only been there a couple of weeks. Uh he’s like, I don’t know. I don’t want to know what we can do on that guitar, you know?
[00:05:40] Uh, it’s kind of the B bender and I said, man, it’s been here for three years and he’s like, all right, I’ll see what we can do. So, uh, yeah, I got, I’m really happy with what I paid for this guitar. Um, but that’s not all, it’s not just the bead bender. There’s also has an, I don’t think this is quite tuned as well.
[00:05:58] Uh let’s let’s let’s test the tuning on the B vendor. So that’s a B, and that’s a C-sharp. It’s almost perfect. It’s perfect. Now let’s look at the, uh, this one, that’s the Lowy tuning up a little bit.
[00:06:26] I should remember how to play that, but
[00:06:38] really beautiful stuff. Really, really, really beautiful stuff. Um, I don’t know why I’m not getting sick.
[00:06:50] I’m a fucking idiot. All right. So.
[00:06:57] That’s something. When I had to work out, I had this plugged in, go in and it just unplugged, but so
[00:07:19] And it hasn’t stayed here and that sends it real sharp. So you definitely needed to do a top off to in there, but let’s, uh, let’s look at that B bender.
[00:07:32] So I bought this guitar because I’m like, this is stupid. This is so ugly. So ugly. I can’t play this. Like, listen, I love dumb shit. I look at me, look at me. Look at me, I’m wearing a Stetson in Seattle. I’m wearing friends just to do demos of any guitar, not just this guitar. I dress up. I like dumb shit. This is too much, but it has a B bender.
[00:08:03] Again, those are hard to install you to route out the entire body, the guitar you have to install the bead bender. It doesn’t really add to the weight. Like this is a heavy guitar. I’m not going to, I’m not going to pretend it’s not heavy. It’s a Les Paul.
[00:08:17] It’s cool.
[00:08:40] Yeah, it’s going to take some, getting used to playing this. Like I’ve just had this a few days, so please don’t judge my technique too much, but I am having a lot of fun with it. Um, it’s definitely it’s it’s it’s gonna take some use to making sure I’m not kind of accidentally like in the middle when I play.
[00:09:11] Yeah, I’m a good, I like to spend some time with it, trying to incorporate the songs that are already in my repertoire. You heard a little Sunday crush in there.
[00:09:28] um, so I’m really excited about this instrument. I’m going to put it through, through some pedals from Caroline corporation pan over. So let’s start with this Hawaiian pizza, a fun setting up.
[00:11:33] let’s do the blues.
[00:13:08] unless you warm up with it.
[00:13:52] Um,
[00:13:58] Liz has a fucking dropped it.
[00:14:04] still singing to him.
[00:14:12] Let’s see.
[00:16:14] Oh,
[00:16:38] is a little easy to get kinda just bear. There.
[00:16:45] Alright, cool. That is my new guitar being played. Now I’m going to kind of open the back and see what it looks like on the inside. All right. Let’s check this beast out. See you in a second. Okay. So this is the back of the guitar. You can see the line of, I shouldn’t remove that light. Turn that light up.
[00:17:09] All right. So this is the back of the guitar. Let’s see if I can do this. Oh yeah. No,
[00:17:19] well, they’re not shipped. They’re not shipped
[00:17:34] sick. All right. Beautiful. Oh, that looks nice. Drop that down there. So this is how the mechanism looks like, pulls up just like so bending that stream, pulling that string right from that point. So it’s got a nice smooth pool, the finish all the way, the edge there, but again, not particularly long for this world.
[00:18:03] All right. Well, there you have it. That’s what a, B bender looks like. If you’ve never seen one, that’s like a pretty clean it’s all good. Okay. Routing Java. I don’t know this might’ve been a self-install, but I’m not sure. Works works really well. Yeah. Well there you have it. That’s my, my new beat vendor guitar.
[00:18:28] Uh, it’s quite a trip please. Like comment, subscribe to see more about the journey of this guitar, because there is going to be a journey. It’s not staying like this forever. I just came. So, yeah. Please like comment, subscribe to see updates. And so next. Yeah, that’s it. That’s all I got. Thanks for watching.
[00:18:47] Thanks for understanding. And so next time, my name is Emily. Goodbye.
